WHAT ARE LME METALS?

The London Metal Exchange and the London Bullion market are the world's primary metal markets. Throughout each business day brokers from the LME meet in "rings" on the floor of the LME to trade, in open outcry, the main industrially used base metals: Copper, Primary Aluminum, Aluminum Alloy, Lead, Nickel, Tin and Zinc.

These ring dealing periods account for a significant proportion of the day's business but a substantial volume is also traded inter office in both futures and options around the world 24-hours a day.
